2006 Year in Review
December, 2006
Received funding approval for an Assistive Technology Lab. We look forward to acquiring the assistive technology necessary for people to better access the computer. LEAP will also be holding individualized classes and informational workshops on the use of assistive technology.
November, 2006
Recieved funding approval for a Recreation Program. In cooperation with local recreation centers across Cuyahoga  County, LEAP looks forward to increasing the opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in recreational activities.

Thanks to the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University for making LEAP your "Charity of Choice." The food donations are greatly appreciated and we are pleased to distribute them.

LEAP awarded by the EEOC & Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations
On June 14, LEAP accepted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission "Freedom to Compete" award. LEAP was chosen to be among many entries and received one of only 7 awards. Read more...
 On May 4, the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO) hosted a luncheon in Columbus to recognize nonprofits for outstanding community programs and service where LEAP was presented with OANO’s Standards for Excellence Certification. Read more...
Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson Speaks to LEAP Job Link Students
On May 22, the City of Cleveland partnered with LEAP to offer a career day/job shadowing experiences for Job Link students. Students shadowed and worked directly with City of Cleveland staff at various locations throughout the community. Read the statement from the City of Cleveland.
Students also had opportunities to work in the Recreation Center, Executive Caterer's, the Mayor's office, in the mail room, and in the Planning Commision office.

LEAP was proud to host a successful " Beyond the Ramp" program on Sunday, April 30 at Lutheran West High School. Over 50 people, mostly representing church and shcool youth groups, enjoyed the speakers and activities. Read more...
