Linking Employment, Abilities and Potential (LEAP)

LEAP: Programs & Services: Community Employment

Assisting persons with disabilities in preparing for, finding and retaining jobs

LEAP's Community Employment Program assists people with all types of disabilities in finding jobs matching their abilities, skills and interests.  Services are provided to persons living in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Ashtabula, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake, Ottawa and Sandusky counties.

Job seekers receive training in job readiness skills.  LEAP provides job development to employers to ensure good matches.  Job placement support is provided one-on-one with the consumer.

Job coaching is available on-site and off-site, once a job is secured.  Job coaching helps to ensure a successful outcome for both the worker and the employer.  To help ensure job retention, follow-along is provided for a minimum of one year after job coaching.

LEAP's Community Employment Program receives referrals from the Rehabilitation Services Commission, County Boards of Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities, Department of Veterans Affairs, Bureau of Workers' Compensation, and the Cuyahoga County Employment Connection.
LEAP has currently joined in an Employment Services Partnership with Jewish Family Services Association.  Learn more...
