| LEAP: Programs & Services: Youth Services
Youth development and employment-related services are provided to high school students with disabilities in partnership with Cleveland Municipal School District, the City of Cleveland, the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission and the Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.
Job Link is a youth development and employment program where youth discover their potential and plan for their future. The program instills the attitudes, behaviors, and skills needed to obtain and retain employment and become successful, contributing members of their community.
It's time to do some advocacy! The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) provides funding for youth employment programs like Job Link to provide skills training, mentoring and other services. Congress has cut funds by 30% since 2002 and work on the next budget has already begun. So ask your elected officials to increase funding for youth employment and education programs today! The Youth Policy Action Center will provide you more details and help you to compose and send a letter to your congressperson and senators.
If you compose a letter to your any representative, please contact Sam Carlson to let her know.
