Services

The Assistive Technology Center at LEAP offers a variety of services including....

  • Assessments: Observation in the user's environment is critical when evaluating a piece of assistive technology. LEAP has selected items that can be brought to a person's home or workplace to assess whether or not the technology could be appropriate.

  • Training: The program provides one-on-one training to users and necessary support personnel on selected pieces of technology. This is done with the creation of modifies user manuals and individual or small group instruction.

  • Classes: People who would like to use specific pieces of assistive technology may sign up for classes or learn more about the product or how to be a more effective user.

  • Workshops: A workshop is a great way for a person to get an overview of assistive technology.

Change your display settings

Do you like the Jungle theme but can't read the font? Is your scrollbar too small?

You can fine tune any of these settings by going through the Display Settings in your control panel. You've already been there if you've changed your desktop picture or your screensaver. Just choose the tab that says "Appearance," and if you use Windows XP then you choose "Advanced." Now you can manipulate the color, font, or size of any item that is listed. If your scrollbar is at 14, then bump it up to 20. Choose the font or font size on your title bar to something more readable. Hopefully this may make your computer experience more positive.
