LEAP Receives MAHO’s Maximum Access Award

The Maximum Access AwardMaximum Accessible Housing of Ohio (MAHO) recognized LEAP with a 2011 Maximum Access Award during a ceremony and dinner held Sept. 30 at the Holiday Inn in Independence. Board President Chuck Heindrichs accepted the award on behalf of LEAP. The other 2011 award winner was Kathy Cotman, a volunteer board member of MAHO and lifelong advocate for people with disabilities. Full storyð

 
 

   
 LEAP Executive Director Is Recognized for Service to the Disability Community
Melanie Hogan is presented with the Schleifer Award.Melanie Hogan was awarded the EP Maxwell H. Schleifer Distinguished Service Award during the Disability Awareness Night hosted by the Lake County Captains. LEAP Receives New Freedom Initiative Award from U.S. Department of Labor
LEAP received one of six New Freedom Initiative Awards from the Department ofOffice of Disability Employment Policy logo Labor.  Staff members attended the Oct. 8, 2008, ceremony in Washington, D.C. to be part of this high honor.

LEAP has received the Standards for Excellence certification from the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO), an organization that recognizes nonprofit organizations for outstanding community programs and service. The certification acknowledges ethical practices and accountability in nonprofit organizations and is designed to bolster public confidence in them, as well as help them gain support.  Full storyð
  

 
LEAP's Youth Program Recognized for Excellence by PEPNet 
PEPNetPEPNet, the Promising and Effective Practices Network, has recognized LEAP's youth transition programs. PEPNet is a system for enhancing the quality of programs that link young people ages 12 to 25 to work and education to help them make a successful transition to adulthood. The PEPNet standards provide a framework for youth programs to achieve a high degree of excellence.
