Invacare Corporation teamed with LEAP for the annual United Way of Greater Lorain’s “Day of Caring” on September 8th. This is the 9th year Invacare has provided volunteers to refurbish and replace wheelchairs for LEAP consumers. Volunteers repaired or replaced components such as arm rests, fabric seats, wheels, breaks, handles and tires, in addition to cleaning and performing general maintenance on each chair. This year, 15 consumers were served, but in the past 9 years over 100 consumers have worked with Invacare volunteers on this valuable project. LEAP wishes to thank the many Invacare employees, some of whom volunteer year after year, for their dedication and hard work.
