The results are in!  The results of the final question state that 26% of the 270 respondents have not been allowed a private, unassisted ballot during the voting process.  Obstacles included problems with the voting machines and also with the knowledge and sometimes the attitudes of the poll workers.

Survey on Voting for People with Disabilities

The Voting Rights Working Group, which is part of the ADA/Civil Rights Subcommittee of National Council on Independent Living (NCIL), wants to know what voting is like for you in your area of the country. Would you share your experience with us? Here are some factors to include:

  1. Do you vote by mail, early voting, or at you polling place on Election Day?
  2. Are you able to get in the polling place?
  3. Have you ever been allowed a private, unassisted ballot?  If so, what type?
  4. What is your disability?
