Congratulations on this much deserved recognition!

"Melanie has devoted her life’s work to improving the lives of persons with disabilities. She is a tireless advocate both locally, and nationally to change policies that exhibit institutional discrimination against persons with disabilities be that unknowingly or deliberately. Melanie is not afraid to say something must be done or needs to be changed. In many ways, she has continued Doris Brennan’s mission and has perpetuated her legacy. Doris’ work continues thanks to Melanie and her team at LEAP. Please join me is recognizing her amazing effort and spirit," said Jackie Stanton, who nominated presented her with the award back in December.
