LEAP’s employment services promoted the independence and self-sufficiency of adults and youth with disabilities. Employment specialists considered the strengths and concerns of each individual and used this input to devise an individualized plan.

    • Competitive employment services helped individuals find positions for which they were qualified. Placements were made in integrated settings that include employees with and without disabilities.
    • Employment services help an individual find a position that is customized to their skills and interests and that also meets the needs of an employer. This position could be one created specifically for the individual or could be self-employment.
    • Supported employment services provided work training in an integrated setting through the assistance of job coaches, assistive technology, specialized job training, and individually tailored supervision.
    • Work Incentive Planning provided one-on-one consultation for Social Security beneficiaries and their families.
