Imagine yourself making a difference to gain better transportation, have easier voter access, and achieving more equitable employment opportunities.
How do you approach your representatives for a meeting on important issues to you?
How do you make the biggest impact to your representatives through email or phone conversations?
How do you collaborate with other organizations who may have a similar interest on an issue?
LEAP’s Advocacy Group will:
This is your opportunity to ask questions and learn from your peers on issues that affect the disability community.
It is a safe-place to talk about policies and issues important where everyone is treated with respect regardless of their differentiating points of view.
It is also a proactive group who responds to calls-to-action!
Members will work with LEAP advocacy staff to help answer your questions on how to advocate to local, state and federal agencies including your representatives and assist you as you develop your self-advocacy skills.
The group meets once a month.
It is open to those ages 17 and over.
