From Curiosity to Career: Laniah's Story

As a consumer of our Summer Youth Work Experience, Laniah worked at St. Augustine's Nursing Home. During this five-week rotational program, consumers can explore several roles within an organization.

Unlike most consumers who tend to settle into a position early on, Laniah's exceptional determination to explore every role set her on a unique journey. With an open mind, Laniah completed each rotation, gaining a diverse set of skills and knowledge. Each role she tried brought her one step closer to finding the perfect fit.

Laniah's innate curiosity led her to discover a deep passion with St. Augustine's Nutrition Services, her final role. Her new team quickly realized she was a natural as she excelled through her training.

As the program approached its end, St. Augustine's Nutrition Services was recruiting for an open position. Instead of looking at applicants, they decided to extend an offer to Laniah. This was a life-changing moment for her and a testament to the program's potential. Excited about her new passion, Laniah happily accepted the offer! Her new schedule accommodates her academic commitments.
