Creating Inclusive Communities

Tuesday, July 26th, 2022

When: 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Did you know that one in four people in the United States lives with some sort of disability?

How does a community include individuals with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities to create a welcoming and diverse place with mutual benefits?

These questions and more will be discussed.

Join us as we explore the different types of disabilities, what ‘person first’ is and its importance, and basic etiquette when interacting with someone who has a disability.

Join us for a discussion on how to make your communities more inclusive and how to go about asking for changes to make businesses, governmental buildings, residential properties, parks, community resource agencies and more, increasingly inclusive.

Join us and register in advance for this Zoom meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

You will have a chance to ask questions and share your experiences.

Presented by Joseph Bell, Policy Advocate and Alicia Goddard, Community Partnership leads at LEAP.
