Wanted: Guaranteed Community-based, Accessible, and Affordable Housing

Tuesday, April 26th, 2022

When: 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Are you a younger person looking for their first place? Or a person with an emerging disability looking for a place in the community? Looking to move from the hospital or nursing home back to the community? Or a caregiver trying to make sure your person has a roof over their head? The topic of functional housing is a practical consideration.

In this month's advocacy meeting, we will explore:

  • The state of accessible housing in Ohio
  • Resources that are available to those in need of accessible housing
  • Resources for making a home or rental modifications
  • And advocacy work that needs doing

Housing is a timely topic. Cleveland Mayor Bibb recently stated intentions to help protect federally subsidized renters and ensure that the city was livable and accessible for everyone, however you get around the city. He also expressed a desire to listen and be responsive to residents' needs.

You will have a chance to ask questions and share your experiences.

Presented by Joseph Bell, Policy Advocacte and Alicia Goddard, Community Partnership leads at LEAP.
