Dominic's Active Lifestyle: Special Olympics to LEAP Bowling

Man in a green sweatshirt and dark blue pants.

Dominic has always been passionate about staying active. As a child, he would spend hours bouncing on a trampoline, constantly pushing his limits to see how high he could soar. When he wasn't defying gravity, Dominic was tirelessly training with his softball team, preparing for the Special Olympics.

One of his most cherished memories from his Special Olympics days was a funny moment on the field. A teammate of Dominic's was up to bat. With their eyes glued on the ball, they swung the bat with so much force that the ball went flying across the field—right into the porta-potty! As the ball struck the porta-potty, a loud boom could be heard throughout the park. Thankfully, no one was hurt with this porta-slam.

Despite his packed schedule, Dominic was ready for more. During school, he discovered a love for bowling, and he's been honing his skills ever since. Every Tuesday, you can find Dominic perfecting his form during West Side Bowling with Quntumn LEAP at AMF Brookgates.

Watching him bowl, it's easy to see that it's more than just a sport to Dominic—it's a passion. His face lights up with excitement as he releases the ball, and his infectious smile fills the whole alley with positive energy.

As a proud Quntumn LEAPer, this is at least his seventh round of LEAP activities this year.

While bowling is a highlight of his week, Dominic's fondest LEAP memory is the 2024 Prom. He attended the event with Amanda, a fellow Quantum LEAP West Side bowler. Their inseparable bond, formed over a decade, was evident as they hit the dance floor at Prom. "Amanda is a great dancer!" he says with a smile and a twinkle in his eye, radiating the warmth of their bond.

Even though Dominic's lifestyle is centered around staying active, he also loves having fun in new ways. He dreams of a future outing to Dave & Buster's with his LEAP friends.

Outside of LEAP, Dominic enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is always looking for ways to stay active, engaged, and enjoying life.
